I’m excited to try something new. I'm doing my best to avoid charging a submission reading fee, but at the end of the day, this has to be sustainable. Unfortunately, I can no longer self-fund the magazine. To make a long story short, I lost my job in November, and I was the sole provider for my family. I decided not to pursue 501(c)(3) status or grants because this magazine is all about free speech, and I won’t let anyone dictate what can or can’t be published.
I’ll share the new Written Tales: Reader’s Choice in the next day or two. It’s a collection of your favorite poems and stories. The book will be available in PDF or ebook format, and you’ll be able to download and enjoy it. There will also be a section offering helpful advice for writers.
I'll also provide a few spaces for authors to promote their books. These ads will come with a small fee. Contact me if you want to feature your book in this first issue. Subscribers who have paid will enjoy a 15% discount. I am considering the basic tier priced between $20-$40 for this new feature's ad space, which will be shared across multiple social platforms to capture a broad audience.
These ebooks/PDFs will not be behind a paywall. All readers of Written Tales will be able to enjoy these gems.
Now, more than ever, if you enjoy Written Tales, please consider subscribing—whether yearly or monthly. Your support helps keep this magazine running and ensures that we can continue to provide a platform where ideas are freely exchanged, and creativity thrives.
I’d love to hear your thoughts! After checking out the first edition, please share your feedback.
As a reminder, the poems and stories are selected based on the number of likes they received or ones I particularly enjoyed, regardless of likes.
Let me know what else you’d like to see in these (monthly?) editions!
Thank you,
Kevin
Is there an e-mail address to ask about ads?
Sorry about your job. Hope this works for you. Best wishes.
