Another morning And the metallic shriek of the alarm clock Wakes you Already there is a cause for alarm: You cannot move your arm, Or your leg, or your neck You have used today's strength for yesterday's Labour Dark clouds of rain gather in your eyes Pain plays your veins like an electric guitar That offended him Your village people are having a festival in Your head, trampling the soil of your brain Into finer dust Your head has a heartbeat That sounds like a drum of war But your bank account is starving So you drag your half-corpse body off the bent bed to gulp a pain reliever, The clock chases you out of the house Into the door of a cab The world is full of horns The incense of cars makes you high It feels like you are swimming in air Your boss is waiting for you at your seat Your heartbeat Is the celebratory drum of defeat He is an elephant and he blows his trumpet To announce your arrival You are late again and the whole world Must know Your have a runny mouth as you apologize Your boss flaps away your words with his ears He is an elephant and he blows his trumpet He serves you a breakfast of insults Ears full, you sink into your chair to Continue the job that is eroding your health But the annoyed face of your colleague Transforms into your bedside clock He opens his mouth and screams like a Tortured bell You wake up again on your bed With a tired body and an aching head Yet you rise with courage Ready to live out your recent dream.
