My Heart Trembled Delightfully to Explore! by Katrenia Busch
Though my spirit sought an adventurous scheme—
One whereby nature could more-or-less explore—
The boldness of this here livid dream—
Came head—butting, rocking— knocking down my door!
Truly! Had it been a gust of wind or flurry!
But instead, was slamming—
Faster— than the speed of light— hurry
Intuit, intuitively— prophetically— ominously
My heart trembled delightfully to explore!
Bad Poetry by Jackie Chou
My ink traverses the page
in wishy-washy strokes
of meandering curlicues
and needless punctuation marks,
lacking an adventurous spirit
or boldness in meaning,
contradicting phrases
butting against one another,
nonsensical verses
that call for the craft
of poets more gifted in poesy,
able to intuit what to write,
not just force the words into lines
that merely resemble poetry.
Having a Daughter Changes Things by Mark Ready
My adventurous childhood was controlled by my parents.
My adolescence by uncertainty.
I lacked a boldness with girls.
No intuit understanding.
I worried about the first kiss.
Then about my first time.
Girls were something to conquer.
To take their virginity
Bragging rights
You were butting societal expectations if you didn’t.
Can we change?
It is time we did.
Variant Omega by Rex Carey Arrasmith
We were adventurous, but our boldness led
To killing our hosts.
That turned out NOT to be
A winning strategy,
We should’ve been able to intuit.
At first, we needed their vaccines,
you know,
To mutate,
butting up for the long haul.
A few more variants, then we’re free,
You’re ours, we’re taking over,
we are the final variant.
