“Mum, who are these people?”
Daisy is looking through my old photos for a family history school project. She’s on her knees on the rug in the living room, waving a photo in her right hand.
I grab the photo and laugh. It must have been taken about 15 years ago. I was dressed all in black, including make-up and hair. “Oh my God, I was so emo. That’s my band.”
“You were in a band? No way! I always said you had a good voice. Where are they all now?” She pushes the bridge of her glasses up with her finger.
“Well, it wasn’t really an amicable split.”
“What happened?” she asks.
“Just a disagreement.” I try to smile. “Let’s look for another photo.”
