Living close to South End, there is Leigh on Sea and many other beautiful places to visit if one has the time. Recently I sat outside a local pub that had been done up with several wooden gazebos to give the place a Mediterranean theme.  There was an alfresco atmosphere, with an outdoor barbeque where homemade pizzas were made; the two chefs kneaded the dough before rolling it out thinly, adding various toppings, before placing it on a large tray in the oven. The pizzas, burgers and ice creams were popular. Everyone chatted and several people who had brought along their dogs were given small bowls of water.
