Good question.

1. I get inspired by nature, going for a walk or sitting and observing the birds and all the critters that call my yard home.

2. Since joining Substack, I have gotten inspiration from writing prompts. They are a great way to shift my thinking to a subject I would never have considered writing about.

3. Reading short stories and poetry written by other Substackers ignite my creativity. I am a voracious reader in general and am usually reading two books at once. I get ideas for themes, plots, and characters from everything I read.

4. Of course, my personal experiences are a great source of inspiration.

Excellent points. Number 4 is my driving force also. Nothing beats it. In regards to #2, is this something you would like to see more of from Literature Magazine like Written Tales?

I would love writing prompts from Written Tales!

The first one sounds really nice and calming I wish I could go for a walk in nature by myself.

I'm not a poet or into flash fiction and poetry writing but my creativity ignites when it comes to something I love. Like showing the world who I am and with my friends and family.

Ditto. I think poetry, especially, only happens for me when I'm willing to be exceptionally vulnerable.

Like firing neuron’s, inspiration finds a pathway or creates one. Some of my best work began through unintentional observations. What we experience becomes the building blocks of our worlds. The trick to the flow of creativity is to be open, curious and aware.

I agree with that. Because without the experiences, you don’t know the details needed to create an engaging piece. The feeling in your gut, for lack of better words.
