Sometimes I wish to be
a raven in the sky
a silhouette, then a small dot
disappearing into the blue
 
If only I could flee this home 
for the broken-winged
escape its familiar language
words that can only bandage
but not sew back the lost parts
 
Perhaps this nest is not my prison
but the voice in my head
telling me I cannot do it
that locks my wings from flying
