Witness this soul pushing his way 
down the side of a roaring highway, 
scepter and treasures carted.
His prized possessions, thin scraps of bread.
His spirit, trembling, unguarded.
 
His body, once towered majestic in sight,
at a glance, bent, crooked, and slow.
Lonely chambers in his heart show
ill effects of time, gravity—invisible foes.
 
Catch a glimpse of his crown, 
once glistening in the sun,
brilliant flashes of color untarnished.
But now, adorned with dust and dirt,
it roams the endless miles upon it.
