Once on a round playland at noon hours, I saw a league of merry children smile collectively, as if many flowers-- in varied hues, yet, alike all the while; slinging their arms on shoulders, capered so and jostled like the merry wind and cloud; with unflagging harmony of their flow, they bustled in laughter of joy aloud. While, fainly as I stood to soak my eye in childhood's jolliness that winnows free; as liberal fowls who travel the sky, I saw the foregone child, revive in me; and, gained aplenty 'neath the April Sun-- this sight whose wealth can be compared to none.
