white marble blocks
in rows
amid green grass
dark trees with boughed
heads
shaken from a solemn slumber
their unity disturbed—
a wasplike flash
of yellow metal
zooms across the landscape
our bus comes
roaring in
bodies leaning out the windows
shouting a song
of bottles of beer
on walls and
falling
until we reach the place marked
