An electrical storm rolls  
over the harbor at Botany.
Lightning descends vertically
to the land or into sea
or leaps and surges, horizontally,
from cloud to cloud,
illuminating different parts  
of the sky, turning midnight
into midday before flickering
into anonymity like an
unsuccessful bid on E-bay.
