Ethiopian Prayer
When I wake, I pray
That I will be here for another day
To hold my mother’s hand
In this grand land 
 
My name is Abeba
When I wake, I pray
A female child of Ethiopia
I love to sing, learn and play
 
So many of my friends are not so lucky
Married at a young, young age
When I wake, I pray
That I can safely express my rage
