About Written Tales

I peered around my old curtains
admiring the glistering flakes
holding my breath as they
delicately descended from the clouds,

the house across the street left their lights on
just like they did my adolescent years,
and the bulbs glowed softly, guiding the flurries,
helping them find their place in this world

my forehead touched the frosty chilled window
cherishing the snow globe I grew up in
where I first learned to ice skate
and drive through slushy sleet filled winters
