“So I arrive in L.A., first time, on the redeye from Newark. There was supposed to be a car to pick me up at LAX but no one showed. I didn’t know if they were just late or if they forgot so I didn’t want to call an Uber. I was exhausted, hungry, thirsty, and majorly pissed off.”
“I don’t blame you. But I should tell you, better get used to it. This is L.A., not New York. Time is an approximation to most people.”
“Yeah, yeah, so I’ve heard. But let me finish the story.”
“Sorry.”
“I manage to get in touch with this producer that was supposed to be sending the car. He’s all apologetic and tells me to take a taxi and he’ll reimburse me when I get there. Already I’m having second thoughts, figuring this is going to turn out to be another fiasco, but I figure I’ve gotten this far, might as well play it out.”
