Good question.

1. I get inspired by nature, going for a walk or sitting and observing the birds and all the critters that call my yard home.

2. Since joining Substack, I have gotten inspiration from writing prompts. They are a great way to shift my thinking to a subject I would never have considered writing about.

3. Reading short stories and poetry written by other Substackers ignite my creativity. I am a voracious reader in general and am usually reading two books at once. I get ideas for themes, plots, and characters from everything I read.

4. Of course, my personal experiences are a great source of inspiration.

I'm not a poet or into flash fiction and poetry writing but my creativity ignites when it comes to something I love. Like showing the world who I am and with my friends and family.

Like firing neuron’s, inspiration finds a pathway or creates one. Some of my best work began through unintentional observations. What we experience becomes the building blocks of our worlds. The trick to the flow of creativity is to be open, curious and aware.
